Optical scanner for printed register marks on paper sheets - reflects light from surface to one optical system to provide alignment indication and second system to read markings by line scanner
摘要
An optical scanner for reading a pattern of markings on a sheet of paper (13) is in the form of a hand-held device. A light source (17) is directed through an optical beam splitting plate (19) onto the surface of the paper with the registration marks (19,29). The reflected ligth from the surface is split into a direct (33) and deflected (35) beams. A main optical system (21) has a convex lens (38) and prism (41) directing a beam onto a mirror (43) and screen (45) to indicate the alignment marks. The second optical system connects to a line scanner (27) reaching the marking pattern. USE/ADVANTAGE - Compact hand-held appts. allowing operator to recognise register marks easily.
