Hair-styling lotion contg. reducing agent and an agent preventing excessive hair-curling comprises (a) 0.01-1 wt.% glyoxylic acid, (b) 0.01-1 wt.% ascorbic acid and (c) 0.1-2 wt.% dithiodiglycolate. The lotion contains no mercaptans or ceratin-softening substances and has a pH value of 3-6.5. Also claimed is the styling-treatment whereby the hair is firstly (a) put on curlers, then (b) put in curlers and after a period of time (c) rinsed with water and finally (d) arranged and dried by the hairdresser. USE/ADVANTAGE - The styling-treatment is suitable for all hair types, reduces the risk of excessive hair-curling and counters atmospheric oxidn. of both the lotion and hair, resulting in hair with a harmonised quality.
