PURPOSE:To shorten the time from the indication of release to an actual releasing action and to attain appropriate photographing by a camera. CONSTITUTION:This camera is provided with a range-finding means(focus detecting means) 4, a lens driving means 5 which drives and stops a lens at a focusing position based on the result of range-finding, a range-finding control means 1 for repeating range-finding actions after starting driving the lens, a focusing discriminating means 1 for discriminating whether focusing is executed or not based on the result of range-finding, and a release means(exposure control means) 6. While the lens is driven, the focusing discrimination means is actuated though the lens is being stopped, and the releasing action is immediately performed when the result of focusing discrimination from the focusing discrimination means shows focusing. |
