This solderless pipe jointing method uses pipes of differing melting point to effect a seal. The pipe (2) is inserted in the flange of a pipe (3) which is pressed by the spring (16). Heat is applied (23) to the joint. Pipe (2) being of a lower melting point will in time melt allowing the pipe (3) to lower until stopped by catch (18) meeting plate (17). The molten metal from pipe (2) displaced via the cone shape will via capillary action flow around the rest of the joint.
