PURPOSE:To provide cellulosic fine powder having a smooth outer shape, high fluidity, dispersibility and water absorption coefficient and a method for producing the aforementioned cellulosic fine powder. CONSTITUTION:Copper is removed from particles obtained by spray-drying an aqueous solution of cuprammonium cellulose in an acidic aqueous solution. The water absorption coefficient is 150-250%.
