An evaluation and control circuits are connected to the capacitor (4) formed by the two leads (4a,4b) to regulate the switching on and off and the speed of the windscreen wiper motor (7) depending on the capacitance alteration (DELTA C). The electrical leads forming the capacitor, are secured by self-adhesive foil to lay out on the screen. The capacitance measurement is carried out in analogue manner in the evaluation circuit, or digitally. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates subjective control of wiper and relieves driver from this task. Wiper speed automatically matches strength of rain.
