摘要 Two profiles are extruded simultaneously through adjacent dies and run through parallel calibrating/cooling and haul-off units (16,17). The haul-offs consist of pairs of superimposed driven endless belts (10 to 13). The upper belts are mounted on inverted 'L' supports (14,15) close to each other. The haul-offs (16,17) pref. form a single unit. The vertical gap between the belts is pref. adjusted by moving support beams (14,15), e.g. by electric motors. The motors may be controlled by force transducers sensing the contact force on the extruded profile. One or both belts of each pair may be tiltable, up to 15 deg., on a longitudinal pivot, to accommodate profiles with non-parallel or non-planar surfaces, without damage to the profile or increased wear on the belts. For substantially non-parallel surfaced profiles, the belt pivot may be offset from the belt centre to allow for the lateral movement of the belt when tilted. USE/ADVANTAGE - Extruded thermoplastic profiles, e.g. window frame sections. Increased productivity with negligible increase in space required and without increase of calibrating speed.
