(4-(Omega-arylalkyl)-2-thienyl) -alkanoic acids of formula (I), and their salts and derivs., are new. In (I), R is H or Me; R1 is H or Me; R2 is H, alkyl (esp. Me or Et), aryl (esp. phenyl), or an alkali metal (esp. Na or K). R3 is H, halo, OH, MeO, trihalomethyl (esp. CF3), NO2, NH2 or alkylamino (esp. MeNH or Me2N); R4 is (CH2)m, CHOH-(CH2)l or C(O)-(CH2)l; R5 is (CH2)n, CHOH-(CH2)n-l or C(O)-(CH2)n-1; m is 0-6; l is 0-5; and n is 3-6. USE - (I) are excellent leukotriene-A4-hydrolase inhibitors useful as antiinflammatory agents. They may be used rheumatoid disorders, e.g. rheumatic arthritis, and also to treat psoriasis and other skin disorders, inflammatory intestinal lesions, (esp. of the small intestine), allergies and asthma. Admin. is oral, rectal or parenteral in doses of 1-500 (esp. 10-150)mg.
