The drogue has a forward section (11) tapering outwards from the hawser attachment (25) at it's nose until it reaches the back section (12) which is an open based reversed hollow frustum of a cone. The forward section has surface channels (22) which widen and deepen from front to rear and internal channels (19) with front facing entry slots (20). The channels all vent into the rear section (12).S The rear section has stabilising relief slots (24) and stabilising fins may be fitted. The body may also be formed of longitudinal flow tubes with inlets in the front section and restricted outlets from the back.
