The invention relates to an examination table for a patient, the said table comprising a support area and a stand. The examination table is provided with means with which the support area can be displaced relative to the stand in the longitudinal direction of the support area. In order to obtain an examination table which is comparatively simple in terms of construction and which permits very good access for an X-ray examination stand, the invention proposes that the means consist of an articulated arm (2) between the stand (5) and the support area (1), the articulated arm (2) comprising at least two arms (3, 4), one end of one arm being connected rotatably to one end of the other about a first shaft (6), and that the other end of the first arm (3) is connected rotatably to the support area (1) about a second shaft (7), and the other end of the second arm (4) is connected rotatably to the stand (5) about a third shaft (8). The shafts (6, 7, 8) are arranged vertically at the connection points in relation to the horizontal plane of the support area (1) so that the arms (3, 4) always move parallel to this plane, and the articulated arm (2) can be controlled in such a way that the angle ( alpha ) between the longitudinal side of the support area (1) and the first arm (3) is in all positions equal to the angle ( beta ) between the longitudinal side of the support area (1) and the second arm (4). <IMAGE> |
