PURPOSE:To obtain an objective color information by combining the color information and the character string, thereby forming the correspondence relation, storing this as the color dictionary information and retrieving the color dictionary information based on the inputted character string. CONSTITUTION:The selection input queuing of the color sample displayed on a pallet 21 of a control screen 20 is obtained and the color sample is selected, and then, based on the color information of the selected pallet 21, dictionary information 11 is retrieved and a character string 22 corresponding to the selected color is displayed on the operation screen 20. When the character string editing instruction is inputted from a registration instruction 23 of the operation screen 20, the color information of the selected pallet 21 and the instructed editing character string are registered in a user color dictionary file. Further, by inputting the character string from a keyboard for the color displayed at the pallet 21 of a display screen 20 of a CRT 1, the correspondence relation of the color information registered in the color dictionary information with the character string as a key and a character string 16 to express this is retrieved, and the equivalent color is searched. |
