<p>PURPOSE:To identify adherence of jammed paper sheets, and remove those easily when jam is caused at a color copy time by turning off an electric source after a belt is retreated upward automatically according to detected signals. CONSTITUTION:When discharge paper sheets are not detected by means of a discharge paper sheet detecting sensor 16b in a prescribed time after charging paper sheets to a fixing unit are detected by means of a charge paper sheet detecting sensor 16a, a judgment is made such that jam is caused in the belt fixing unit, and jam annunciation is displayed in an operation panel unit, and an electric source for such as a halogen lamp having a possibility of overheat is turned off. Next, while operating a belt moving mechanism, a belt 3 is retreated upward, for example, the belt 3 is turned to a position at a monochromatic copy time, and afterwards, control is carried out by a control means so that a main electric source for a copying machine can be turned off. In the case when a cabinet is opened under this condition, the belt 3 is put in its upward moved position, so that under a condition that the paper sheets are stuck on the belt 3, the jammed paper sheets can be identified and removed easily.</p> |
