PURPOSE:To obtain sterilized pure water at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:A filter medium formed of molded activated carbon 2A described below is provided as an activated carbon filter 2 by which free chlorine and organic substance contained in raw material W1 are removed. The molded activated carbon 2A is porously made and also its surface is sterilized. The respective water contact faces of both a water supply passage 6 to an ion exchange tower 3 from the activated carbon filter 2 and a water supply passage 7 to a tank 4 from the ion exchange tower 3 are sterilized. The sterilized water contact face A is provided in the tank 4.
