<p>PURPOSE:To induce shoot apical tissues from protoplasts with a high efficiency by preparing the protoplasts from organs of a plant body obtained by culturing a germinated young seedling of Guinea pepper for a prescribed period, growing the protoplasts and culturing the resultant calli in a specific culture medium. CONSTITUTION:A germinated young seedling of Guinea pepper belonging to Capsicum.frutescens is cultured for 7-21 days to provide organs of the plant body. Protoplasts prepared from the resultant organs are then grown to afford calli, which are subsequently cultured in a culture medium containing giberellin and cytokinins. Thereby, shoot apical tissues are induced from the protoplasts. Furthermore, the cytokinins are preferably kinetin or benzylaminopurine.</p> |
