PURPOSE:To enlarge a speed control range of a synchronous AC servo motor without increasing a current capacity of a servo amplifier by altering armature windings to a star-connection and a delta-connection corresponding to the low and high speed operations. CONSTITUTION:A start/delta switching circuit 5 for switching armature windings to a start-connection and a delta-connection, is provided in series with a power supply path between an inverter 4 and an AC servo motor 1. Here, the circuit 5 receives designation signals corresponding to low and high speed operation ranges at a predetermined rotational speed as a boundary, and alters three-phase armature windings to the start-connection and the delta-connection corresponding to the low and high speed operation ranges. Thus, the operating range of the motor 1 can be enlarged without increasing the current capacity of a servo amplifier 2. |
