PURPOSE:To enhance light resistance and water resistance of images and enable excellent recording characteristics to be displayed even when an ink comprising a water-soluble dye is used, by using a combination of silica, a cationic resin and an amino-alcohol having an amino group and an alcoholic hydroxyl group in its molecule. CONSTITUTION:The silica is a synthetic particulate silica having a specific surface area according to the BET method of not less than 100m<2>/g, and the cationic resin is preferably a polydiallylamine having a quaternary ammonium group. The amino-alcohol is preferably an alkylolamine. When a recording medium comprising these substances in combination is used, excellent recording can be performed even when a recording liquid comprising a water-soluble dye as a recording agent is used. The water-soluble dye is preferably a substantive dye, an acid dye, a food dye or the like. |
