PURPOSE:To eliminate a need for checking all terminal equipment one by one installed and in operation for confirming a set TEI value by devising the system such that the TEI value in operation is automatically included in a reply message and the message is displayed to a reader. CONSTITUTION:A subscriber bus compatible with an ISDN is provided with a TEI reader connected to a terminal equipment compatible with the ISDN, and the TEI confirmation procedure stipulated by the CCITT recommendations is utilized. The value reader sends a confirmation message with a confirmed TEI value in the step 102, and receives a request message for an identification check from an ISDN exchange in the step respectively 201. The message is received by a terminal equipment having the TEI value of this message in the step 202 and a reply message is returned in the step 204. The TEI value reader receives the reply message in the step 104, extracts the TEI value in the step 105 and displays it in the step 106. The TEI value not displayed is set to a new terminal equipment. |
