The musical box has a driving spindle. It has a stationary outer cylinder (17), of material translucent to light from behind. The contours (23,24) are coaxial to the cylinder, coupled to the driving spindle, and of non-translucent material, with a coaxial light source (18) on their inside. The outer cylinder can be of light-coloured paper or plastics, while the contours are of black paper or cardboard, or alternatively printed in a dark colour on translucent material such as paper or plastics. The base (2) can incorporate a battery compartment (21), and a switch (22) operated from the outside. ADVANTAGE - Also entertaining in the dark.
