Base for a large calibre machine gun, in particular for armed positions, including: a turret with windows, an ammunition belt storage, locking devices for the gun targeting mechanism, a shooter's seat and a floor permanently fixed with the turret body, compliant to patent No. 142287, characterized in that on both sides of the carriage body (1), arms (2) are attached; ends of those arms are joined with a cross-bar (3); to that crossbar, a vertical support (4) with an aperture (5) is joined; that aperture (5) is located along the gas chamber (8) axis; in that aperture, a ring is seated (6), with a cut-out (7) of the gas chamber shape (8) and with an oval cut-out (9) in its vertical wall; that oval cut-out (9) is in line with the cut-out (10) for the gas chamber (8); whereas the ring (6) is protected in the aperture (5) of the support (4) with a front-located ring (11) and with screws (12) located radially in the sides (13) of the support (4).<IMAGE>
