A method of obtaining magnesium-ammonium monohydric phosphate, which involves calcination of magnesium-ammonium hexahydric phosphate, characterized in that before the calcination the magnesium-ammonium hexahydric phosphate is comminuted, and the calcination is conducted at a temperature between 373 degrees K and 453 degrees K, for a time between 0.5 hour and 5 hours.
