Hydraulic drive for freezers, in particular those on ships, used for freezing fish on horizontal trays arranged between plates which are lowered and raised by hydraulic cylinders, the drive consisting of hydraulic cylinders with two chambers, one with a piston rod and one without, a hydraulic accumulator, a hydraulic pump driven by an electric motor used to charge the hydraulic accumulator, a pressure switch by which the electric motor driving the hydraulic pump is turned on and off, a reduction valve, non-return throttle valves, two-position distributors, a pressureless tank and hydraulic conduits, characterized in that the piston-rod chamber (1) of the hydraulic cylinder (2) is connected via a conduit (3) to the hydraulic accumulator (4) via a non-return throttle valve (5) and reduction valve (6), and that that conduit (3) is connected via a non-return valve (7) to a conduit (8) connecting the hydraulic accumulator (4) to the two-position distributor (9), while that distributor (9), also connected via a conduit (10) to the chamber (11) of the hydraulic cylinder (2) with no piston-rod and via a conduit (12) to the pressureless tank (13), constitutes in the first position (14) a connection between the chamber (11) with no piston-rod and the pressureless tank (13), disconnecting the tank from the hydraulic accumulator (4), while in the second position (15) it constitutes [...]<IMAGE>
