PURPOSE:To provide an air bag device which possesses high reliability and in which a conventional electric ignition type as generator can be used and a control unit having an electronic circuit including a trouble detecting means can be incorporated, and special material is not required for a base plate and boss plate, at a low cost. CONSTITUTION:An air bag device is constituted of a gas generator 6 having an ignitor, air bag 12 which is positioned outside the gas generator 6 and whose edge part is fixed on the gas generator 6, control unit which is arranged in close to the gas generator 6 in separated from and electrically connected with the gas generator 6 and is equipped with an accelerating speed detecting means, collision judging means, sending device for the electric ignition signal to the gas generator 6, power source means, and a trouble detecting means, and a boss plate 1 which supporting-fixes the control unit, and the air bag device can be installed on a steering wheel. |
