POLYOL ESTER LUBRICANT COMPOSITION FOR USE WITH TETRAFLUOROETHANE REFRIGERANT

A lubricant composition for use with tetrafluoroethane refrigerant in a hermetic compressor. The lubricant composition comprises a polyol ester lubricant, and a stabilizer for the lubricant. The stabilizer is a triaryl phosphate, wherein the stabilizer is present in an amount not exceeding 10 weight percent of the lubricant. A refrigerant composition comprising a tetrafluoroethane refrigerant, an effective amount to provide lubrication of a polyol ester, and a stabilizer for the lubricant, said stabilizer being present in an amount not exceeding 10 weight percent of the lubricant is also provided.
