The immersion temp. sensor (14) is enclosed by a protective sensor sleeve (16). The space between the temp. sensor (14) and the sensor sleeve is filled with a metallic filler material (20) which has a melting temp. above the temp. range of the indicator (10). Pref. the metallic filler material (20) comprises an alloy of Sn and In and the temp. sensor (14) is supported by a carrier circuit board (18) held in position within an outer sleeve (12) via the metallic filler material (20).
