A method of obtaining nitrogenous fertilizer of prolonged action containing an organic component in the form of peat, bark, lignite of cellulose polymer, a calcium component in the form of a lignite ash, and a nitrogenous component in the form of slow-action carbamide, characterized in that the organic component is subject to homogenisation in a miser, at a temperature above 10 degrees C, preferably 20-40 degrees C, in a time not shorter than 30 minutes, and further the carbamide is introduced into the mixer in an amount not smaller than 20 percent by weight, as converted into dry matter of the organic compound, and a catalyst in the form of salts of metals, inorganic acids, metal oxides and metal hydroxides, in an amount not smaller than 0.1 percent by weight, and further the obtained mixture is further stirred for at least 15 minutes at a temperature above 20 degrees C, and further the lignite ash is introduced in an amount of at least 5 percent by weight in relation to the organic component, and the whole is heated at a temperature higher than 130 degrees C for more than 30 minutes, and after the heating process is finished, the obtained fertilizer is comminuted or granulated by the already known methods.
