PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition, composed of a new fluorine- containing copolymer of a specific composition, excellent in water and oil repellency, moisture, weather, acid and scuff resistance due to an increased fluorine content in film surfaces and further improved in smoothness of films. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition containing a copolymer consisting essentially of (A) a fluoroolefin, (B) a vinyl ester or isopropenyl ester of a fatty acid expressed by formula I [R1 is H or CH3; R2 is CnH2n+1; (n) is 1-12], (C) a hydroxy-containing allyl ether expressed by formula II [R is H or CH2OH; R3 is R1; R4 and R5 are H or OH; (m) and (n) are 0-8] and (D) a fluoroalkyl group-containing (meth)acrylic acid ester expressed by formula III [R6 is R1; R7 is fluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkyl]. The intrinsic viscosity of the copolymer is 0.05-2dl/g at 30 deg.C in THF. The contents of the components and units expressed in terms of the produced copolymer composition are respectively 10-80mol% component (A), 5-80mol% component (B), 3-80mol% component (C), 0.1-20mol% component (D) and 0-40mol% units based on other polymerizable comonomers. |
