PURPOSE:To read the data without using special paper by classifying a format pattern and a character pattern from the inputted image information and recognizing a character. CONSTITUTION:From an input device 3, the image information of paper in which only a format is described and data are not described is read, the character pattern of the format and the frame line pattern included in the image information are recognized, and prepared as first information. From the input device 3, the image information of the paper in which the data are described is read, the format and the data are classified based on the first information, the character pattern of the data part is recognized, and second information to consist of the data corresponding to each input area is prepared. That is, the paper in which the character data are not described is once read, the format of the paper is prepared as format information, character data input area information is prepared from the format information and the character data described in the paper are recognized based on the format information and the character data input area information. |
