PURPOSE:To provide rotary head type DAT capable of stable data reproduction even at high-speed searching. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a variable gain amplifier 28 which changes the level of a head switching signal to be outputted in synchronization with the rotation of a rotary drum 14 and an adder 25 which adds the output by the variable gain amplifier 28 to that of a phase comparator 22 which comprises a PLL 24. When the high-speed search instruction is received, the level of a head switching signal from a head switching signal generator 18 is controlled by the variable gain amplifier 28 and the output is added to the output of the phase comparator 22 of the PLL 24. To a VCO 23 of the PLL24, a signal based on the level-controlled head switching pulse signal is applied as a control voltage, and the PLL maintains stable phase lock state even at the high-speed search point, and the PLL generates data reading clock signals. |
