The present invention relates to an installation for handling and calibrating articles, such as shellfish in particular. Said installation, which comprises an input station, a weighing station (19) and an output station, is characterised in that the input station comprises: means, such as a roller (10), for conveying the articles one by one; means (1, 3, 5, 6, 8) for delivering the articles more or less in line to the entrance of said roller; a conveyor (15) at the output of the roller (10) for taking the articles arriving from said roller one by one in succession; and means (18, 19) for causing the articles to move one by one over time from the roller (10) to the conveyor (15).
