PURPOSE:To prevent a reverse flow of ink when an energy is applied to the ink, jet the ink by a small energy, and obtain a high-speed, small-size, and low-cost head. CONSTITUTION:A pressurizing chamber 6 is provided in an ink flow path 3. A valve mechanism 7 is provided in an ink flow path 3a between the pressurizing chamber and a common ink chamber 4. The valve mechanism 7 is provided with a globular body 9 having approximately the same specific gravity as ink; an isolating part 7a disposed between the globular body 9 and the common ink chamber 4; and a regulating part 7b disposed between the globular body 9 and the pressurizing chamber 6. When an energy is applied to ink through a piezoelectric element 8 provided on the pressurizing chamber 6, the globular body 9 is pressed against the isolating part 7a to isolate an ink flow path 3b to inhibit the ink from flowing rearward. The applied energy is concentratively used for jetting the ink. When the energy application is brought to a stop, the globular body 9 releases the isolation of the ink flow path 3b, and ink is supplied from the common ink chamber 4 to the pressurizing chamber 6. |
