The invention proposes a device for accurately positioning an optical glass blank (14) with respect to a plane surface carrying the outline of a system of reference marks (X-X, Y-Y, A, O, B) and on which the blank rests, characterised in that it includes a hologram (26) which restores the virtual image in relief (30) of a sighting mark and which is interposed between the said outline of the system of reference marks and the eye (32) of the user of the device so that the optical transmission axis (Z-Z) passing through corresponding points in the reference mark system and the site is perpendicular to the plane surface. <IMAGE>
