The assembly is composed of two supports (1) which, for their use, are arranged one parallel to the other, each support receiving, in bearing, a part of the article to be inspected so as to allow it to rotate. Each of the supports (1) includes two elements of spherical surface (10), the separation (E) of which is adjustable. Parts of the article to be inspected can be rested pointwise on the elements (10). Applications: checking radial deviations or triangulation, concentricity, conicity. <IMAGE>
