A method for degassing the braun tube comprises (A) heating an electrode of electron gun up to 650-800 deg.C by applying high- frequency voltage to doughnut-type coil, while keeping the temperature of the heating furnace at 200-300 deg.C to remove contaminants and gases from the braun tube under vacuum, (B) thermally decomposing carbonates by heating the cathode to emit lots of thermoelectrons, while keeping the vacuum of the tube at 10-4-10-5 Torr and lowering the temperature of the furnace to 200-300 deg.C, and (C) sealing the tip of exhaust pipe, while keeping the temperature of the furnace at 100-150 deg.C under high vacuum.
