PURPOSE:To restrain the excessive rising of a temperature in a fixing device and to shorten a processing time in the case of intermittently forming an image by setting so that a recording material may be started to be fed even when the temperature is equal to or under a specified temperature on a decided temperature changing curve from a standby temperature to a fixing required temperature as long as it is within a specified time after finishing the fixing. CONSTITUTION:An A/D converter 23 converts analog data from a thermistor 20 connected to an MPU 21 to digital data. A MPU 21 detects the surface temperature of a fixing roller based on the digital data and controls a solid state relay 22 to turn on/off a heater to control the surface temperature of the fixing roller. In such a case, the surface temperature of the fixing roller is set to be the standby temperature in the middle of post-rotation processing, and a feeding action is started as soon as a printing command is received as long as the postrotation processing. Thus, the temperature is prevented from excessively rising and a printing time at the time when the printing command is transmitted in the middle of the post-rotation, like intermittent printing, is shortened. |
