A shunt device for hydrocephalus constructed so that the rupture of diaphragms and valves caused frequently by a needle when it is pierced into a shunt to infuse liquid medecine into the brain ventricle, causing troubles, is prevented. Said device comprises a lower connector (3), a side connector (2), and a dome portion, wherein said dome portion is divided by a bulkhead (6) into an upper dome (4) and a lower dome (5), wherein said upper dome (4) communicates with said side connector (2), wherein said lower dome (5) comprises a first small dome portion (5a) communicating with said lower connector (3) and a second small dome portion (5b) communicating with said first small dome portion (5a), wherein a check valve (5c) is provided in said second small dome portion (5b) for permitting the passage of fluid only in one way from said first small dome portion (5a) to said second small dome portion (5b), wherein of said bulkhead (6) at least a portion above said check valve (5c) comprises a valve guard (7) formed from a hard material, and wherein said second small dome portion (5b) and said upper dome (4) are caused to communicate with each other through at least a small hole (7a) formed in a portion of said bulkhead (6) above said second small dome portion (5b). |
