<p>PURPOSE:To perform the high speed search on a tape without trouble by performing the desired amount of tape feeding with the control of a rotating shaft at the time of search operation. CONSTITUTION:The number of revolution of a tape shaft to feed the tape at high speed to the vicinity of the top part of an area where the number of writing is a prescribed value or below is calculated. Then, the tape is detached from a magnetic head by driving a tape loading motor 25. When the tape is detached perfectly, the tape feeding is started by rotating a capstan motor 23 and the motor 23 is rotated so far as the number of revolution corresponding to the number of revolution of the tape shaft found previously. In such a case, the output pulse of a rotary encoder 24 coupled directly to the rotating shaft of the motor 23 is counted by a counter 213, the count number is monitored and the motor 23 is stopped when the count number coincides with the number of revolution calculated previously. By the above-mentioned process, the tape is fast-forwarded to the part of a little amount to a tape top from the top of the desired recording area from the top part of the desired recording area.</p> |
