<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of 'tailing' caused by the accumulation of heat in a thermal head at the time of a draft mode and to perform high speed printing without lowering printing grade. CONSTITUTION:In a line thermal head 1, a DATA signal is successively stored in a shift register circuit and the output data from the shift register circuit is latched by a latch circuit by inputting an LATCH signal to the latch circuit. Then, AQD of the output data of the latch circuit and an STB signal is taken to evaporate a heating resistance element. A memory 20 consists of first font data constructed of a usual printing pattern and second font data constituted of a printing pattern wherein a final dot in a case having dots continuing in a set number or more in a sub-scanning direction is decimated and, when the accumulation quantity of the heat in the thermal head 1 is much and the generation of 'tailing' is estimated, the second font data is selected and the thermal head 1 is driven on reference to the second font data.</p> |
