<p>A method of producing a gas-permeable fabric comprises weaving a plain or hopsack pattern with missing or interchanged binding points. Preferably, the degree of permeability in certain areas of the fabric is varied by increasing or decreasing the incidence of missing binding points. The fabric is used in an airbag to control the venting of gases through selective permeability while maintaining similar fabric properties in terms of strength and weight.</p> |
