An extruded elastomeric weather strip for fitting around the window aperture of a movable window in a vehicle is shaped either to fit at the upper edge (14, Figure 1) of the aperture (Figs. 2 to 5) and to receive the glass 15 in a rectangular cross-section recess 2, or to be fitted on each side of the lower edge (20, Fig. 1) of the aperture (Figs. 6-7) as a pair of strips each having an upper (22/25) and lower (24/26) flange for pressing against the glass 15, and sloping shoulders. The contact surfaces have bonded thereto by co-extrusion, strips 10, (29-32) of a friction material made of a synthetic resin and having projecting surface grains 27, e.g. of a nylon, and preferably also recesses 28 formed by the melting of lower melting point grains; these strips allow easy opening and closing of the glass.
