This arrangement for making boreholes through the ground, in particular for laying supply pipes or cables without digging trenches, consists of a feed device (2) to which a rod assembly is connected by a quick-action coupling. Parts (4) of the rod assembly (5) are connected together by a quick-action coupling (3) which may be a bayonet joint, and the rod assembly (4, 5) having a locking device (11, 7, 6, 8). The ram borer (2) has a bayonet-type two-part quick-action coupling (3) connected to the first section (4) of a drill rod assembly (5) that consists of several sections. The locking head (7) of the coupling (3) has two shoulders (11) which fit into the locking recess (8) when the rod section (4) has been inserted. The section (4) is then turned 90 deg. to make the connection between the borer (2) and the rod (5) or the rod section (4).
