The arrangement has at least two counter rotating imbalances in the form of eccentric wts. to detect the position or contour of each imbalance using position or distance sensors. The sensors are mounted offset about the imbalances' rotation axis by equal and opposite angles w.r.t. the main vibration direction. Their phase relationship is evaluated for error interpretation. The evaluation detects an incorrect rotation direction, non-synchronous running or an excessive phase difference between individual imbalances. ADVANTAGE - Can accommodate different rotation directions and displacement of imbalances and its operation is independent of revolution rate.
