PURPOSE:To realize common use of inverter circuit for normal lighting and emergency lighting. CONSTITUTION:A booster circuit 7 for normally charging a battery B with a commercial power supply AC and boosting the battery voltage upto the driving voltage of an inverter circuit at the time of emergency is constituted of a switched capacitor circuit. The inverter circuit 6 is normally driven with the commercial power supply AC through a rectifying/smoothing circuit 5 to light a discharge lamp FL. At the same time, the voltage is stepped down from E0 to E1 through the step up/down circuit 7 thus charging the battery B through a resistor R3. Upon interruption of the commercial power supply AC, a power interruption circuit 9 detects power interruption to modify the control of the step up/down circuit 7 so that the charging voltage E1 is boosted to E0 thus driving the inverter circuit 6 and lighting the discharge lamp FL. |
