Detecting rail openings in continuously welded sections of railway track - transmitting sound along rails to microphone and logically combining electrical pulses detected from both rails
摘要
The method of detecting openings in continuously welded railway track involves periodic or continuous monitoring using sound in solid from a source (1) mounted at the start of a defined measurement section of track or from the wheels of a train (3). Acoustic signals are transmitted simultaneously or at defined time intervals. The acoustic signals are detected by a microphone (4) mounted at the end of the measurement section. The electrical pulses corresp. to both rails are logically combined to produce a signal (8) used to pass the section of track unless pulses are absent for one or both rails, in which case the section is closed. ADVANTAGE - Enables automatic continuous monitoring of railway track for openings in rails.
