摘要 Prodn. of ceramic discs consists of lying a foil (2) on a flat ground ceramic substrate (1) inside a ceramic ring (4) whose height corresponds to the thickness of the foil plus the ceramic powder treated inside the ring. The powder contains organic solvent such as ethylalcohol or isopropanol and building agent such as polyvinylbutyral, polyethylene glycol and octylphthalate. The assembly is completed by a cover (5) and heated in a chamber or tunnel furnace with gas suction or replacement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Making solid electrolyte for a high temp. fuel cell. The ceramic disc has high strength, good flatness and high dimensional tolerance. Only one temperature cycle is required and the presence of the powder layer enables gases and vapour to escape and cracks and faults to be avoided. The foil can contract uniformly during sintering.
