Polystyrene packaging for sensitive photographic films - has two basic box-like trays fitting together with profiled edges

The basic trays (1) are substantially prismatic and rectangular and have the same shape with thick side walls and a thin strip (2) on their base surface which projects slightly sideways from the plane of the adjoining side faces to form a narrow circumferential shoulder. On the free edge of the side walls of each tray there is a projecting rib (3) directly adjoining the inner faces and only extending halfway round the length of the free edge whilst an identation (4) is provided round the complementary other half. The rib and indentation have the same height, depth and width, with the width corresponding to half the thickness of the side walls. The two trays fit together locking with the associated rib and indentations. USE/ADVANTAGE - Any contents eg films inside the closed box are protected against heat, shocks and deformation.
