<p>PURPOSE:To separate cesium in a water solution of uranium by a method where in pH of the water solution of uranium is adjusted to a specific value, the solution is brought into contact with a zeolite adsorbent and the cesium is made to adsorbe on the adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:The value of pH of a water solution of uranium is adjusted to be 0.2 to 2.0 and the solution is supplied to an adsorption tower 3. The adsorption tower 3 is filled up with a mordenite-type zeolite adsorbent. The temperature of the adsorption tower 3 and the water solution is adjusted to be 25+ or -1 deg.C, the water solution of uranium supplied to the tower and flowing out of the bottom of the tower is led to a treated solution tank 5 and cesium in the water solution is separated by making the cesium adsorbed on the adsorbent. Mordenite-type zeolite, A-type, X-type or Y-type zeolite, ZSM-5-type zeolite or the like is used for the zeolite adsorbent. By adjusting the pH of the water solution of uranium, a cesium adsorption effect is improved and the cesium is separated by making it adsorbed on the adsorbent.</p> |
