PURPOSE:To provide the optical information recording medium with which a tight sticking structure is possible and the recording and reproducing method which improves sensitivity and C/N by using this medium. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer of the optical information recording medium successively having the recording layer and a protective layer 4 directly or via an under coat layer on a substrate 1 consists of two layers. The 1st recording layer 2 and 2nd recording layer 3 respectively consist essentially of optical isomers of the type having reflection peaks near the oscillation wavelength of laser oscillation for recording and reproducing and varying from each other. If this recording medium is irradiated with the laser, the 1st recording layer 2 and 2nd recording layer 3 of this point melt and mix to form a racemic body 5. Optical characteristics are thus annihilated and pits are formed. |
