PURPOSE:To allow the judgment of the progression of the wall formation of the microcapsule with colors by using a hydrophobic wall forming material which discolors or develops color by reacting with a dye precursor at the time of producing the microcapsule. CONSTITUTION:A core material monomer is prepd. by thoroughly mixing a shell part member, such as terephthaloyl dichloride, a hardening material, such as acrylic monomer, a photoinitiator, such as iron arene compd., and the dye precursor, such as leuco dye. The leuco dye, then, reacts with the terephthaloyl dichloride and, therefore, the core material monomer develops color. This core material is thereafter emulsified and dispersed in water and is added to an aq. soln. of hexamethylenediamine and sodium hydroxide. A polymn. reaction is then started immediately and the microcapsule consisting of the polyamide as its shell part is formed, but the shell part is thin in the initial period of the reaction. The terephthaloyl dischloride is consumed and the color is successively lost as the thickness of the shell part increases gradually. |
