PURPOSE:To enhance strength at high temp., heat cycle resistance and chemical stability by firing a molded body of a powdery mixture contg. coarse powder of calcia stabilized zirconia having a prescribed particle diameter and fine powder of yttria stabilized zirconia in a prescribed ratio. CONSTITUTION:Coarse powder of calcia (Cab) stabilized zirconia having 5-150mum particle diameter is mixed with 10-50wt.% fine powder of yttria (Y2O3) stabilized zirconia. This powdery mixture is kneaded with water and a binder and the resulting kneaded material is molded and fired, e.g. at 1,700-1,800 deg.C to obtain a porous zirconia substrate used for a solid electrolyte type fuel cell, an oxygen separating element, etc., and having excellent durability at high temp. and excellent gas permeability. |
