<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a coordinate input device in which detection time is short and which can precisely detect a coordinate. CONSTITUTION:It is detected to which unit area among unit areas Xa-Xh and Ya-Yh composed by dividing a coordinate area into plural number, the input coordinate instructed by a detection pen 8 belongs. Then, a relative position in the unit area is detected. Then, the input coordinate on a liquid crystal panel 1 being a coordinate input part is calculated based on a base coordinate being an absolute coordinate in the unit area and the relative position in the unit area. Thus, it becomes unnecessary to detect the input coordinate while a segment electrode X and a common electrode Y are line-sequentially scanned, and coordinate detection time is considerably shortened.</p> |
